International seminar on Commercialization of New Technologies in Agro & Food Processing was conducted 10th February 2005 at Hotel Taj Residency, Lucknow. The seminar was well attended by more than 200 participant from industries, research institutes, government etc having interest in Agro & Food Processing Sector. Experts across the country delivered lectures on varied subject of Agro & Food Process encompassing handling technologies, market models & technology, emerging technological trend etc. Mr. Suket Gohil from GEA Process Engineering (India) Ltd. delivered a lecture on Freeze Drying. Mr. Suket Gohil elaborated on the fundamental principles of freeze drying, advantage of freeze drying, techno-economics of the freeze drying technology, application of freeze drying in Indian Context, freeze drying vis-a-vis conventional drying, products of interest for freeze drying, end use market segment for freeze dried product etc. It was informed to audience that world class freeze drying technology is available in India by GEA Process Engineering (India) Limited from GEA group company Niro A/S. Presentation generated commendable response from participants which was reflected in question-answer session followed by presentation.
