For more than 80 years, GEA companies has supplied pharmaceutical and biotech plants used to produce pharma powders, particulates and liquids in the pharmaceutical industry.

Product applications include analgesics, antibiotics, enzymes, proteins, vaccines and vitamins.

GEA Pharma Systems was formed in early 2000 after GEA acquired the Pharmaceutical Division of GEI International. The newly acquired companies Buck Valve (containment interfaces solutions) and Buck Systems (contained materials handling), Collette (granulation & one-pot technology), Courtoy (tabletting technology), were combined into GEA Pharma Systems along with the existing GEA companies, Aeromatic-Fielder (granulation, drying, pelletizing & coating technology) and the pharma division of Niro (spray drying technology).

With this combination, GEA Pharma Systems became the leading international supplier of Solid Dosage Technology to the pharmaceutical industry able to offer complete process lines for tablet manufacturing, from dispensing and blending, granulation and drying to the final tablet with all possible intermediate steps.

In November 2005 followed the acquisition of Steris Gmbh by GEA. After renaming the company into GEA Lyophil it joined the other pharma companies in GEA Pharma Systems. Gea Lyophil supplies specialist freeze drying technology for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.

Additional processing equipment and plant types supplied to the pharmaceutical industry include fluid bed tablet coaters, granulators and dryers, and microwave dryers. Please select a segment or visit GEA Pharma Systems for further information.
